A medical officer accompanies a patrol that is involved in an ambush. After a short but intense firefight, none of their soldiers have been hit. However, two of the attackers are found dead, and a third one is gravely injured. The medical officer realizes that he will not be able to save his life with the means available, but he is sure that the wounded will die painfully within the next one or two hours, if he does not get help. As the general situation is not secure, the patrol commander decides to leave the scene as fast as possible. They cannot take the wounded with them, and a call for air evacuation has been declined for security reasons. Thus, there will not be any medical help available for the wounded fighter.
